The Australia-Korea Business Council, the Embassy of the Republic of Korea and KOTRA are co-hosting the fourth Australia-Korea Critical Minerals and New Energy Forum in Sydney, centered around the theme "Shaping a sustainable future together."
This event will bring together key industry and government representatives from Australia and Korea and will provide attendees with in-depth discussion of key market developments, substantive policy directives, and industry perspectives as Korea and Australia seek to bolster energy and resources security and expand markets in critical minerals and new energy.
Meet the Miners® fosters closer collaboration and connection between mining and METS organisations, opening dialogue around operational needs and challenges and providing suppliers with a greater understanding of the current and future priorities of their major buyers. The event also provides a platform for METS companies to introduce emerging solutions and technologies and engage in strategic discussions about the focus areas for innovation and product development to unlock future growth for mining organisations. Participants are separated into tables of 10, each with a mining organisation representative, facilitator and eight member companies. As part of the Global Opportunities program at IMARC, State Mining Ministers from across Australia will provide a 10-minute briefing to attendees on ongoing and upcoming opportunities per state. This showcase of Australian State Mining Ministers will take place on 31 October and the session will complement the participation of the Australian States on the IMARC Expo floor and within the overall IMARC 2023 Program. Federal Minister for Resources, the Hon. Madeleine King will also be attending IMARC hosting bilateral and multilateral meetings, doing a meet and greet on the IMARC Expo floor, and also addressing the IMARC Plenary on day 2 morning, 1 November.
The World Economic Forum are hosting its World Economic Forum “Australia Energy Transition Community” Roundtable, an invite-only sideline event for its mining, energy, finance and public sector members on 1 November. This will be a dialogue between the public and private sectors, from Australia and globally, on the realities and opportunities of the energy transition for Australia. Its aim is to set a clearer pathway forward between the government and the private sector on Australia’s international energy transition and critical minerals strategy, and to propose governance, objectives, and roadmap for Australia Energy Transition Community. Jorgen Sandstrom, Head of Transforming Industrial Ecosystems, World Economic Forum at the World Economic Forum will also host a keynote panel discussion at the IMARC plenary on day 2 morning, 1 November with four of its member C-level executives on the topic of Unlocking Australia’s Energy Transition: From a Global to a Country Perspective.
The multilateral government Conference on Critical Metals and Minerals is an invite-only sideline event hosted by the Critical Minerals Office of Australia on 2 and 3 November. The two-day event will host 40 participants from key country Governments and include several bilateral meetings at the request of members. Key delegations will join the discussion on critical minerals from Australia, Canada, the European Commission, Japan, United States, France, Germany, Italy, and the United Kingdom.

The IMARC Gala Dinner will be on the final evening of the event and will be our 10th year celebration of IMARC and industry over the years. Along with a silent auction of IWIMRA @ IMARC artwork, entertainment and the annual awarding of the Legend in Mining Award, this year IMARC will host a fireside chat between Australian rugby captains John Eales and Nathan Sharpe to explore the parallels between mining, business and sporting excellence. “Green and Gold: Mining and the Wallabies” will see the speakers take the stage, hot on the heels of the Rugby World Cup in France.
