Augusto Cauti has a law degree from the Catholic University of Peru, and a master of laws degree from Duke University (USA). He has been Mines Deputy Minister of Peru between May 2019 and August 2020.  

Before, he has held legal and corporate affairs positions within the private and public sectors, practicing both in his country and abroad, such as general counsel for Pan American Silver in Peru; commercial counsel for Nextel Communication´s activities in the Asia Pacific region; legal advisor of the Peruvian Private Promotion Agency; foreign lawyer at Wilmer, Cutler & Pickering in Washington DC, USA; lawyer associate with Echecopar law firm in Lima, Peru.

He was also Executive Director of the Australia-Peru Chamber of Commerce in Lima between 2015-2019, and has experience as board member of private companies and civil society organizations, as well as professor at Peruvian universities. Currently, he provides advice as independent consultant.
