Professor Edward Buckingham is Director of Engagement at Monash Business School. Teaching Business Models & Strategy on both the MBA and Global Executive MBA programs at Monash are amongst his favourite activities. His professional career includes business and academic roles. Edward Buckingham began his career with the Boston Consulting Group in Shanghai advising MNCs and SOEs; later managed a €50million French manufacturing business, now part of Clariant, and worked for Schlumberger, the international oil and gas services company. He lectured at Nottingham University’s Business School in Ningbo, China and was Director of INSEAD’s Executive MBA programs (France, Singapore the UAE and Beijing).
Since returning to Monash in 2015 Edward Buckingham has presented masterclasses and co-authored an article on the future of work in the resources sector for the AusIMM and been a keen supporter of the university’s engagement with the resources sector. Edward Buckingham is secretary of the Monash Business School Business Advisory Board and sits on the Monash Infrastructure board. He graduated with a BSc in Materials Science and a BA (Hons) in Indonesian Literature from Monash University and was its first undergraduate exchange student to Indonesia. Edward continued with post graduate studies in China at the Johns Hopkins Nanjing Centre. He also holds an MBA from INSEAD and his PhD, from the School of Oriental and African Studies, University of London, focused on organisational boundaries and business strategy in Indonesia. Edward Buckingham is fluent in Indonesian, Mandarin French and English.
