The Indonesian Ministry of Investment/Indonesian Investment Coordinating Board (BKPM) oversees the investment realisation as well as the policies implementation in Indonesia. As the primary interface between business and government, BKPM is mandated to boost domestic and foreign direct investment through creating a conducive investment climate. The Ministry’s goal is not only to seek more domestic and foreign investment but also seek quality investments that may drive the Indonesian economy and absorb a lot of manpower.
In the Pacific region, Indonesian Ministry of Investment/BKPM is represented by the Indonesian Investment Promotion Centre (IIPC). Located in Sydney, IIPC works closely with the Indonesian Embassies/Consulates General across the Pacific, business associations and other business/investment related institutions through investment seminar and exhibition, business mission and matchmaking. IIPC provide free consulting services on doing business in Indonesia. IIPC Sydney represents Indonesian Minister of Investment/BKPM in Australia, New Zealand, and other Pacific Countries.
Australia Indonesia Business Council (AIBC)
Founded in 1971, the Australia Indonesia Business Council is the peak non-profit business chamber for trade and investment between Australia and Indonesia. Alongside active chapters in all Australian states and territories, AIBC’s National Minerals, Energy and Industry Group is a network of members in Australia-Indonesia resources industries that facilitates information exchange, highlights the successes of members in Indonesia and advocates for open, reciprocal, and mutually advantageous business opportunities between the two countries.
Since inception in 2018, AIBC’s National Minerals, Energy and Industry Group has participated in IMARC as a content supplier, an information exhibitor, and as a meeting hub for AIBC members attending. The Group also provides market information through newsletters and webinars and is currently finalising a Teams environment available only for AIBC members.
