We are a leading and certified ISO9001:2015 high quality supplier of industrial brake systems. Our corporate headquarters and main production facility are located in Delta (Vancouver), British Columbia, Canada. We have been in operation since 1966.

Our hydraulic, pneumatic, spring-set, and manual caliper brakes and systems are in use world-wide on grinding mills, conveyors, mine hoists, winches, marine propulsion systems, off-shore and on-shore rigs, top-drives, drawworks, and other types of rotating power transmission equipment. In addition to our brakes, we manufacture static and dynamic storm brake systems (rail clamps). Our storm brakes and emergency lock down systems include: automatic and manual rail clamps, rail brakes, tripper clamps, and rail wheel clamps. Storm brakes are typically used on gantry cranes, stacker reclaimers, ship loaders/unloaders, conveyor trippers and many other types of rail-mounted equipment. Johnson also manufactures wheel gripper systems for rail car dumping.

In 1993, we acquired the United Kingdom (UK) based brake company, Elevanja. The Elevanja brake company immediately added electromagnetic and electro-hydraulic thruster drum and disc brakes to our product offering.

Johnson / Elevanja electric brakes are in service around the world on cranes, hoists and other material handling and power transmission equipment. Elevanja’s brakes have long been preferred equipment in the UK for nuclear power generation, mining, petro-chemical extraction, steel-works, and industrial plants in general. In the year 1997 Johnson Industries launched our second Canadian division in Toronto, Ontario, serving our eastern Canadian and United States customers. We are available for sales, service, and support regardless of time zone.
