Metso says Asia Pacific Life Cycle Services pipeline is building

Mineral processing equipment manufacturing leader Metso says new Asia Pacific mill life-cycle service deals reflect a shift in the industry toward long-term collaboration that elevates shared performance, reliability and transparency aims.

The company said two new mill lining Life Cycle Services (LCS) agreements secured in the first half of this year added to contracts won in 2025. It had also been building a “strong pipeline of future opportunities” in the region. Worldwide the LCS model is said to be well established with more than 600 active agreements in place.

The four most recent Asia Pacific contracts are said to be worth more than A$40 million.

Metso Asia Pacific solution group grinding director, Jarrod Pyke said the LCS agreements, for up to three years, were designed to deliver “measurable long-term value”.

“Through Life Cycle Services agreements we partner closely with our customers, combining Metso’s unique LCS concept with technical expertise, asset management capabilities and strong local presence,” he said.

In response to customer demand for greater consistency and performance, the agreements extended long-term service coverage and standardised mill lining solutions across sites, enabling continuous improvement and more efficient operations, he said.

Two of the agreements include performance-based mill lining agreements that link liner performance directly to mill throughput and service life. Metso says aligning operational outcomes with customer objectives and sharing performance responsibility enables customers to reduce operational risk and improve planning for maintenance and production.

Comprehensive service packages, combining liner delivery with technical expertise and ongoing support, have enabled customers to replace multiple suppliers and standardise mill lining supply at their operations, Metso says.

“Metso Life Cycle Services focus on measurable performance improvements defined through jointly agreed targets,” it says.

“The scope can cover the full aftermarket and equipment offering, depending on customer needs.  

“In mill lining applications, this approach ensures optimised mill lining performance through continuous monitoring, tailored solutions and data-driven decision-making.”
