IMARC 2024 Kicks off in Sydney: Thousands gather for the largest international mining conference in the Southern hemisphere

This year’s conference is set to break records, with more than 9,000 delegates, 600 speakers and over 500 exhibitors on site, positioning IMARC 2024 as the premier platform for the global mining and resources sector.

IMARC 2024 showcases the global industry's best-practice in sustainability, safety and productivity and the latest in cutting edge technology, including exploration, AI, electrification and automation across an impressive 20,000 square metres of exhibition space. 

Opening the three-day event, internationally acclaimed speaker and leadership development executive Holly Ransom said, “As the world races to secure what will power the next generation, we all know that we need to rethink how we operationalise the energy transition, leveraging new innovations and deep partnerships across the sector.”

• A Focus on Sustainability and the Circular Economy: IMARC will host critical discussions around sustainable mining, recycling, and resource recovery, including a keynote from Dr. Cathy Foley, Australia’s Chief Scientist, in which she will explore resource-focused advice and recommendations from Australia’s Ministerial Advisory Group on the Circular Economy.
• The Global NextGen Program: This pioneering initiative aims to connect and inspire the next generation of industry professionals. With dedicated networking sessions and mentorship opportunities, it’s designed to foster fresh perspectives and innovation.
• High-Profile Speakers and Panels: Keynote addresses will feature top voices in the industry, such as Madeleine King, Australia’s Minister for Resources, alongside executives from BHP, Fortescue, and other leading firms.
