First Woman Environmental Engineer managing a responsible mining project in Ecuador, in the Torata Mining Resources Company of the Australian company Challenger Gold, which currently maintains exploratory activities in El Guayabo sector, in the Torata parish of the Santa Rosa canton.

Carolina has managed to advance as a leader and expert about the environment issues and responsible mining projects in a traditionally masculinized industry in Ecuador and the world.

For more than 7 years, she was an adviser and National Environmental Coordinator for the electric, oil, telecommunications and mining sectors for the Government of Ecuador.

She has stood out as an advisor and consultant on strategies for sustainable development and environmental security in international organizations, public and private companies.

Her vision to connect leading women in the mining industry led her to be the Co-founder and Vice President of WIM ECUADOR, an initiative for women interested in the mining sector in Ecuador with the purpose of promoting female participation in the industry.
