Chris was appointed Head of Global Indigenous Procurement at BHP in July 2022, based in Perth, Australia. The role is responsible for supporting BHP to deliver its commitment to create economic empowerment for Indigenous Peoples through increased procurement and contracting opportunities, improved engagement, and the experience of working with BHP. 

With almost 20 years working in the resources sector, Chris has worked in BHP’s Commercial team since joining the company in 2011. Previous roles with BHP include Head of Supply for Western Australia Iron Ore and Australian Head of Purchasing.

Chris is a strong collaborator who’s passionate about the role procurement teams can play, connecting the company with the external world to create social and commercial value.  

Chris holds a Bachelor of Commerce from Curtin University and lives in Perth with his wife Michelle and their two teenage children.
