I am the Community Relations Manager for Glencore, one of the world’s largest diversified natural resources companies.
In this role I lead the Corporate Social Responsibility strategy and initiatives for our Coal Assets in Australia, overseeing corporate community investment, community and Indigenous relations to create positive social impact.
I am focused on delivering strategic initiatives that create long term value and positive social impact to the communities where we operate. Our best work to date has been developing and implementing a portfolio of community investment partnerships that create shared value and positively contribute to the socio-economic development of our communities. Instigating the first Reconciliation Action Plan (RAP) for Glencore (formerly Xstrata), generating positive outcomes and then developing subsequent RAP’s has been extremely rewarding.
Before joining Glencore, I worked for the Australian Sports Commission (Sport Australia) leading a passionate team of community development professionals. Here, I established and maintained strategic partnerships with key stakeholders to increase the delivery of sport and physical activity, inspiring children to develop a lifelong interest in sport using the ‘playing for life’ philosophy. This opportunity was built on previous community development roles working in South Africa and the Pacific.
I am dedicated to developing quality partnerships with third sector or government agencies to address society’s biggest challenges. I have a strong consultative leadership approach and a demonstrated ability to grow social license to operate values in challenging global CSR landscapes.
I have completed post graduate studies in Social Impact and Management with UNSW, Sydney and the University of Melbourne. These qualifications compliment my Bachelor’s degree.
I am always interested in hearing from other CSR professionals, current or former colleagues or those with a similar passion for positive social impact.
