Glen Cathers

Glen Cathers is a highly experienced exploration and resource geoscientist with expertise across the exploration, mining and government sectors in Australia and Southeast Asia.

In his current role, Glen provides advice on critical minerals, base and precious metals, and coal, as well as strategic guidance on resource development, utilisation and sterilisation. His work combines technical geological expertise with a strong understanding of government policy, legislation and the economic drivers of the resources sector.

Glen holds a Bachelor of Business Management from the University of Newcastle (2008), a Bachelor of Science (First Class Honours) from Macquarie University (2010), and a Master of Economic Geology from the University of Tasmania (2021).

With more than 18 years of industry and government experience, Glen has worked in exploration and mining across open-cut and underground operations in Australia and Southeast Asia. His experience spans gold, copper, zinc, lead, nickel and coal resources.

His expertise includes geology, geophysics, GIS, exploration, drilling, resource assessment and mining techniques. Combined with strong leadership and project management experience, including managing contractors, field teams and multidisciplinary projects, Glen brings a practical understanding of mineral systems, resource development and the Australian mineral economy.

Passionate about the resources sector and its contribution to the community, Glen is committed to supporting the responsible development, utilisation and protection of New South Wales' non-renewable mineral resources through sound geological, commercial and policy advice.
