Isaac Andrews Tandoh

Isaac Andrews Tandoh is a highly accomplished mining professional and seasoned industry leader with over twenty-three (23) years of extensive experience in mining engineering, mine operations, project management, regulatory compliance, operational leadership, and strategic mine development across Ghana and internationally.

As the Chief Executive Officer of the Minerals Commission, he provides strategic leadership in the regulation and sustainable management of Ghana’s mineral resources, while championing responsible mining, local content development, digital transformation, and investor confidence within the mining sector.

Mr. Tandoh holds a Master of Science degree in Mining Engineering and Management from the South Dakota School of Mines & Technology, USA, an MBA in Corporate Finance from Walden University, and a Bachelor of Science degree in Mining Engineering from the University of Mines and Technology, Tarkwa. He is also a holder of several internationally recognised professional certifications, including Mine Manager’s Certificate of Competency, Certified International Commercial Contracts Manager (CICCM), and Mine Safety and Health Administration (MSHA-USA) certification.

Prior to his appointment as CEO of the Minerals Commission, Mr. Tandoh built an exceptional career within the global mining industry, holding various senior management positions at Gold Fields Ghana Limited, Newmont Corporation, AngloGold Ashanti plc, and ASARCO Group LLC in the United States. His expertise spans mine management, contract mining operations, technical services, safety systems implementation, operational optimisation, and large-scale mining project execution. Throughout his career, he has successfully led major operational transformation projects, managed multi-billion-dollar mining contracts, and implemented innovative systems that improved productivity, safety, and operational efficiency across mining operations.
