Mr. Malpica is an innovation and R&D management professional with 20 years of experience developing technologies and leading multidisciplinary teams that deliver complex innovative solutions across several industries including IT, manufacturing, sustainability, government, NGOs and technology startups.
He is the Executive Director of Rockburst Technologies, a spin-off of Envisioning Labs Inc. dedicated to the development and commercialization of the next generation of mining comminution technologies using supercritical CO2 rock pulverization. Mr. Malpica leads a team of multidisciplinary researchers, scientists and inventors through his work with Rockburst and Envisioning Labs serving a wide range of industries where complex problems require collaborative innovation anchored on first principles. A vocal advocate of contributing to the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals, for the past 20 years he has led teams in mining innovation, advanced manufacturing, digital healthcare, corporate social responsibility and climate change action. Mr. Malpica holds a Master’s degree in Applied Science from the University of Toronto.
