Pierre Rivard

Pierre Rivard is a board member and investor in BluWAVE Inc, a Canadian enterprise developing AI-driven optimization solutions to orchestrate complex energy systems characterized by high penetrations of renewable energy, localized storage assets, and electric vehicles.

He also serves on the board of the NRC National Research Council of Canada, and is co-founder of TUGLIQ Energy Corporation, a Montreal-based IPP dedicated to energy diversification of Northern mining sites and communities through renewable energy. Pierre is also Chairman of the Indigenous Infrastructure Fund Corporation.  Previously, he served as founding President & CEO, and later as Executive Chairman, of Hydrogenics Corporation, a NASDAQ-listed Mississauga-based hydrogen fuel cell and electrolyser company acquired by Cummins in 2019. Prior to Hydrogenics, Pierre served 21 years in the Royal Canadian Air Force.

Pierre holds a Doctorate of Mechanical Engineering degree from the University of Toronto (Honoris Causa), an MBA from the University of Western Ontario’s Ivey School of Business, and a Baccalaureate in Mechanical Engineering from Kingston’s Royal Military College of Canada.
