Shane has than 20 years’ experience in corporate affairs, strategic communications and social responsibility for the mining and construction industries. Specialising in community engagement, government and stakeholder relations and property advisory, Shane has held senior roles in firms such as New Century Resources and MMG. 

At New Century Resources, Shane was Head of Corporate Affairs and Social Responsibility where he was responsible for guiding Australia’s first significant tailings reprocessing initiative through a myriad of statutory and policy issues from conception through to execution and maturation. Prior to his career in mining, Shane spent time as a media and policy adviser within the Commonwealth and Queensland Governments. Shane now owns and operates SC Group, a specialist advisory firm providing support to resource sector proponents and project developers around Australia. With a keen interest in Indigenous Affairs and Traditional Owner engagement, Shane is also a member of the board of the Aboriginal Development Benefits Trust (ADBT), a charitable trust dedicated to the economic development of the Traditional Owner communities in the Gulf of Carpentaria.
