Simon is a specialist in environment, planning and resources law with a proven track record across all aspects of project approvals for large resources, energy, and infrastructure projects. He has extensive experience advising major private and public sector clients on complex environmental planning and protection, native title, mining and petroleum, water law and administrative law. 

In particular, Simon has provided environment and planning advice in respect of NSW resources projects, including in respect of their rehabilitation and closure issues, as well as planning approvals and environmental management issues associated with their rehabilitation and adaption for re-use. He is currently advising in respect of the rehabilitation and reuse of the largest quarry site in the southern hemisphere, including in respect of planning approvals, negotiations with government, and water licence requirements.
