Simon is a partner at MinterEllison and leads the firm's Energy & Resources industry group. With over 25 years' experience advising clients across the resources sector, Simon's clients include major international resource companies such as Albemarle, Anglo American, Rio Tinto, BHP, and Peabody Energy, as well as peak industry bodies and government on regulatory and policy matters.
In addition to assisting clients to navigate regulatory complexity and leading significant transactions, clients seek Simon's guidance throughout the lifecycle of their major projects, from exploration through feasibility, on to mine development, operations, sales and marketing, and finally closure and repurposing. Simon has been involved with the critical minerals sector for many years, including through the Australia India Partnership for critical minerals and rare earths to build a resilient critical minerals supply chain.

His work with Albemarle on its US$1.3bn Wodgina Lithium Project transaction was recognised as Energy & Resources Deal of the Year at the 2020 Australasian Law Awards.
