Rafid Morshedi

Rafid Morshedi is the Director of Digital Services at WSP Australia, leading teams across digital engineering, visualisation, data science, GIS, artificial intelligence, simulation and analytics. With over a decade of experience spanning infrastructure, mining, energy, transport and major capital projects, he specialises in helping organisations turn complex and fragmented data into practical business outcomes.

Throughout his career, Rafid has delivered digital solutions ranging from predictive maintenance and asset management systems for heavy haul rail and mining operations to AI-driven optimisation and simulation platforms for some of Australia's largest infrastructure and resources projects. His work includes machine learning applications for maintenance planning in mining and heavy industry, automated rail and infrastructure alignment design, climate and operational risk modelling, and advanced supply chain simulations supporting offshore wind, hydrogen and bulk commodities supply chains.

Rafid has led the development of digital twins, optimisation engines, agent-based simulations and decision-support platforms that enable organisations to improve productivity, reduce risk and make faster, evidence-based decisions. His work has supported some of Australia's largest resources, transport and government organisations, including BHP, Rio Tinto, Fortescue, Queensland Rail, and Transport for NSW.

A Chartered Engineer and University Medal recipient from the University of Sydney, Rafid is passionate about applying emerging technologies, artificial intelligence and data integration to solve complex operational challenges and unlock new opportunities across the resources and infrastructure sectors.
