As an Environmental and Chemical Engineer, Leigh has held a range of operational, commercial, project and strategy roles across the international resources sector, including ExxonMobil, Santos and Rio Tinto. She is a passionate advocate towards future-proofing Australian heavy industry with a focus on the ‘transition’ in our energy transition and is currently working across a wide stakeholder group to take a pragmatic approach to solving this complex puzzle.
Having completed a range of assignments across Australia and internationally Leigh applies a truly global perspective to her work. During her tenure at Rio Tinto she co-founded the internal strategy consulting group and worked on a range of productivity and strategy initiatives across the commodity portfolio. Following that, as Site General Manager of the Boyne Aluminium Smelters in Gladstone, she led the development and implementation of a future operating approach, engaging with local and state government representatives on extending the life of this critical metal manufacturing infrastructure.
